How do you
join our group?

- First, become a member of the Chamber of
Commerce.
- Visit out Thursday morning group for two
visits.
- If you decide you like us (and we hope you
do!), ask for an application from the Chairperson of the
Membership Committee. Fill out the application and give it
to the Membership Chairperson.
- Do not come to the third meeting. On that
morning, the group will discuss how we can help you if you
join the group as well as how you can benefit the group.
Once you are accepted to the group, the Membership
Chairperson will call you and let you know you've been
accepted.
- When you come to the next meeting, bring a
check for you one year membership dues to the Leads Group.
Our dues are $100 for the entire year. Fifty dollars for
your annual dues and fifty dollars toward advertising and
our web site. We have a larger fee than other leads groups
because:
- We do not ask our members for
additional money during the year for advertising, or to
support different Chamber functions that our group may
participate in. Our is a once a year fee and everything
we participate in is voted on by the group and then the
money is dispersed by our Treasurer for the event. No
additional money from our pockets!
- We have our own Leads Group web site
that is linked to the Chamber web site so businesses and
customers can find our businesses and contact us. (Paid
for by our dues)
- We have a large ad with our pictures in
the Chamber Directory every year. (Paid for by our dues)
- We support a variety of charities each
year. Again, voted on by the group. The funds for this
come from our "jar" that is passed at each meeting for
donations from those that want to contribute. PLUS if we
are late for the meeting or our cell phone rings during
the meeting, we must contribute $1.00 to the charity
jar!
What do I have
to do once I join the group?

- Attend the meetings at 7:30AM on Thursday
mornings. Meetings are one hour.
- We are allowed 10 absences for the entire year.
We meet every Thursday unless a major holiday falls on a
Thursday, such as Thanksgiving. If we miss 3 meetings in a row,
or have 10 absences we are no longer in the group and must pay
$100 to rejoin.
- The reason we have a strong absence rule is
because we want the business people in our group committed to
being part of our group and capturing the benefits of being a
member.
- Become involved and participate in the group as
well as the Chamber. The person who joins and doesn't
participate usually finds their business doesn't grow and
prosper. Becoming involved is how we get to know each other on a
more personal level. It's always easier to recommend business to
someone you know personally.
- During the week, think about people that can use
the services of the other members and pass them a lead to follow
up with that person. They will be doing the same for you.
